“You Only Need One”

But you’re not allowed to sell it…

I’m harkening back to that glorious day

When I first felt the pull of the scene.

On the gallery wall, I unlatched a door

Setting something inside of me free

I mean, if you only get one…

Can you recall that wondrous day when

The magic first fell on your ears?

The record’s slow turn, the joy in its throw

Like a rainbow that follows on tears

The first book sets up the second, of course. As Robert Frost wrote, “how way leads on to way”…

Let’s try and relive that pivotal day

When we first learned to follow the thread

On pages that flowed like an old river’s roll

Hoping it never would end

Much of my career in radiology has been spent studying, with great fascination, the internal mechanisms of the human body. This blog is an effort to expand that view to the outside world and also to map my own experiences engaging with it.
