“Sidewalk Semiotics (Mask of Derrida)”

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: For those playing along at home, this version of the Mask Game is like golf, in that you must “play it as it lies.” You cannot place, drop, move or touch a mask. All masks for this project are found spontaneously and captured in place, as is. You can change your angle, use close-up or panoramic, post-process the image, go black-and-white, etc. But the essential composition of the found scene should remain undisturbed. None of the masks that I’ve shown belong to me. Some of the pictures were provided to me by other players, and that will be disclosed. Enjoy!

Much of my career in radiology has been spent studying, with great fascination, the internal mechanisms of the human body. This blog is an effort to expand that view to the outside world and also to map my own experiences engaging with it.
